Montreal has several areas where we can find restaurants of interest. Previously we have talked about some restaurants in the area of the Plateau Mont Royal, but we can also enjoy local and international cuisine in areas such as Vieux Montreal or Rue Sainte Catherine (both on its west side and in the Gay neighborhood of the East Zone).
The Montreal Vieux area is very tourist and in its cobbled streets we will find many medium and high restaurants. Most of them offer varied and quite elaborate dishes. Many of them are quite tourist, but neither does it mean that food is of poor quality or prices too high.
In the Plateau Mont Royal we also find enough coffees and small more informal restaurants. Apart from classic establishments such as the Banquise or Schwartz that we have mentioned previously, areas such as Avenue Mont Royal, the Rue Saint Denis or the Boulevard Saint Laurent have numerous restaurants where to enjoy a quiet meal. In the latter case, if we choose this area we will also be near an area with an lively nightlife if we want to follow the party.
Rue Sainte Catherine has two areas especially animated for dinner. On its west side, once the crossing with the Rue Guy has three or four apples with numerous international cuisine restaurants, with special presence of Asian food. For its part, the east side, in the gay neighborhood area of The Village, is another area of pubs and bars, although it also has some very pleasant restaurants.
